Crop to the part that matters

Use the cropper to remove distracting edges, improve composition, or prepare a photo for a profile, thumbnail, presentation or website. FigureOwl works from the full-resolution source rather than a reduced preview, so the downloaded image matches the pixel bounds shown in the controls.

How to crop an image

  1. Select a JPG, PNG or WebP image.
  2. Choose Free or a common aspect ratio such as 1:1, 16:9, 4:3, 3:2 or 9:16.
  3. Drag the selection to reposition it, or enter exact X, Y, width and height values.
  4. Choose the output format and quality, crop, review the preview and download.

Aspect ratio, dimensions and file size

An aspect ratio describes the shape of the crop, while width and height describe its exact pixel dimensions. Cropping usually removes pixels, but it does not guarantee a particular KB or MB target because format, detail and quality also affect storage size. Use Resize Image when you need different final dimensions, then Compress Image when you need a smaller file.

Output formats and transparency

JPG is widely compatible and fills transparent areas with white. PNG preserves transparency and is useful for graphics. WebP can preserve transparency and often produces compact web images. Always review the downloaded result before replacing an original.

Private browser processing

Your selected image is decoded, cropped and exported locally in your browser; it is not uploaded to FigureOwl. The tool accepts supported images up to 25 MB and 40 megapixels. Very large files can use substantial device memory.
