Add a visible mark before sharing
A watermark can identify a creator, label a proof, or keep a brand visible when an image is reposted. FigureOwl can apply either custom text or a JPG, PNG or WebP logo. The live preview shows placement, size, opacity and rotation before the full-resolution export is created.
How to watermark an image
- Select the photo or graphic you want to mark.
- Choose Text and enter a name or notice, or choose Logo and select a logo file.
- Set one of nine positions, then adjust size, opacity and rotation.
- Choose JPG, PNG or WebP, apply the watermark, review the output and download it.
Choose a useful placement
A corner watermark keeps the subject easy to see and works well for branding. A centered, larger mark is harder to crop out and may suit proofs. Lower opacity is subtle; higher opacity is easier to read. Check contrast against both light and dark areas of the image.
What a watermark can and cannot do
The watermark is baked into the exported pixels, so it is not a removable editing layer. It can discourage casual reuse and preserve attribution, but it is not digital rights management and a determined editor may still crop or retouch it. Keep the original file and use appropriate licensing terms when ownership matters.
Formats, transparency and privacy
PNG and WebP can preserve transparency. JPG cannot, so transparent areas are filled with white. JPG and WebP are re-encoded at the selected quality. The source image, logo and finished file are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to FigureOwl. Source images are limited to 25 MB and 40 megapixels; logos are limited to 10 MB.
