Create a readable PDF from plain text
Text to PDF turns notes, letters, reports, transcripts and exported TXT content into a paginated document that is easy to print or share. Paste directly into the editor or import a plain-text file, then choose a page size and spacing that match the job.
How to convert text to PDF
- Paste text into the editor or import a TXT file.
- Choose US Letter or A4 paper.
- Set the font size, margins, line spacing and optional page numbers.
- Add an optional document title for the PDF properties.
- Select Download PDF and inspect the finished pages.
Choose Letter or A4 for the audience
US Letter is common for documents printed in the United States and Canada. A4 is the usual office size in many other countries. The content reflows automatically when the paper size, margin or font size changes, so page count can vary between settings.
Plain text keeps the workflow predictable
This tool intentionally accepts plain text rather than Word or rich-text formatting. Paragraph breaks are retained and long lines wrap within the selected margins, but headings, bold text, tables, images and lists are not inferred. Use a document editor when a complex visual layout must be preserved.
Character support and accessibility
The built-in PDF font supports common English and Western European characters. Unsupported emoji or writing systems are replaced with question marks, and the tool reports how many replacements occurred. The resulting words remain selectable and searchable, unlike text saved as a screenshot.
Private browser processing
The text and imported TXT file stay on your device. FigureOwl creates the PDF locally with an established open-source library and does not receive or store the content. For browser stability, each document is limited to 250,000 characters.
Check before sharing
Open the downloaded PDF and review page breaks, symbols, dates and names. Plain-text conversion does not add semantic document tags or guarantee formal accessibility compliance, so documents that require a specific accessibility standard need a dedicated review.
